eLearning Coordinator

Laura Thain has over 10 years of experience as an instructional designer, technical writer, and field trainer in higher education. In her previous roles at the University of Texas at Austin, Laura designed and taught curricula across the departments of English and Rhetoric & Writing, from whom she received two distinguished teaching awards. Her work in digital and visual rhetoric led her to editorial and project management positions in the Digital Writing and Research Lab, where she integrated online accessibility, information architecture, graphic design, UX Design, and web development into her instructional design approaches. She has also served as a field trainer for the Faculty Innovation Center using evidence-based approaches to train instructors across the liberal arts in objectives-driven design and assessment.

As the eLearning Coordinator at NDC, Laura believes that instructional design should provide all students equitable access to research and field-based models. Laura holds an MA in English and a BA in history, English, and classical studies from Tulane University.
