Shirley Ann Shannon
Community Engagement Specialist
Shirley Shannon loves to be involved with different organizations and enjoys taking on challenges! Her passions are working with people and supporting their goals to become successful. She enjoys supporting communities by speaking up for their rights. She enjoys being creative, teaching, and using apps to manage projects. Shirley interned at two of her favorite organizations: the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) and Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Sign Language (STEMS), both in the Washington, D.C. area. She enjoys working with NDC on the Engage for Change projects. She studied at the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla for four years, studying in Elementary Education before transferring to Gallaudet University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies in 2017. Currently she lives in Puerto Rico.
